Open Mobile Alliance

LOMS (Local Mobile Services)

ITEA

NGMN: Next Generation Mobile Networks

PTCRB

Description from the PTCRB website: "PTCRB is a global organization created by Mobile Network Operators to provide an independent evaluation process where GSM / UMTS Type Certification can take place. The technical evaluation is based on standards as well the needs of the Operators, who determine the requirements for the Type Certification Process. The PTCRB authorizes third party laboratories to conduct testing. For over ten years, the PTCRB has demanded high standards from partnerships with Laboratories and Manufacturers; and the collaboration of GSM Operators globally. The number of devices being certified by the PTCRB is growing exponentially from year to year." (link)


OMTP: Open Mobile Terminal Platform

Description from the OMTP website: "OMTP is an operator-sponsored forum that serves the needs of each and every link in the mobile phone value chain by gathering and driving mobile terminal requirements. There are currently seven full members: AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Orange, Smart Communications, Telecom Italia, Telefónica and Vodafone. OMTP also has the support of two sponsors: Ericsson and Nokia. There are a total of 31 participants from all parts of the industry. These range from Operators to chipset manufacturers and from OEMs to Internet companies." (link)
